Bartolomeo Platina (Italy, 1421-1481) was a Renaissance humanist, historian, writer, and cookbook author. He wrote a history of the papacy after his own experience working as a papal official.

Binding solid with edgewear, corners and spine rubbed; cracking at rear hinge, pages lightly toned with scattered foxing and occasional light grime, (5) gatherings with heavier toning; frequent damp staining at edges and margins, occasional small edge chip or tear, one page with small possible repair.
