19th century, English/Welsh, probably Pontypool, worked in iron and tin, scalloped form with scrolled shell handles, hand-painted with exotic birds within a floral garden on a dark ground with gilt floral decoration, conforming domed lid with cast acorn finials, spreading foot, one underside retaining partial labels.

11 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 6 in.
