Late 19th century, two armchairs and six side chairs, each chair with a shaped relief carved crest rail above a pierced relief carved back splat featuring graduated bellflower and anthemion set within a molded shoe, shaped molded stiles, shaped arms and arm supports with acanthus carved knuckles, upholstered slip seat, molded flush seat rail, front cabriole legs with acanthus carved knee, robust carved ball and claw feet, down-swept rear legs.

Armchair 38 x 25.5 x 23 in., seat height 17.5 in.

Good uniform mellow patina; tight joinery in good usable estate condition.

Small break and repair at arm joints to rear stile (now with tight joinery); wear to the toes on the feet; later upholstery.
