Leather bound with gilt stamped spine and patterned endpapers. 24mo; 216; 249; 248; 248; 258; 240pp. Vol. 1 with portrait frontispiece. Previous owner statement on free endpaper of vol. 1: "Ex-collezione di Clare Boothe Luce & Henry Luce"; vols. 1 and 6 signed "Alessandro Manzoni" (unable to verify signature). Text in Italian. (Boards scuffed with some marks and discoloration, edgewear, corners bumped; frontispiece partially detached at tail, several leaves in vol. 3 with small area of damp staining, vol. 6 with light hinge cracking; pages with scattered foxing and occasional edge chip, stain, or frayed leaf; a good set with pages generally clean and crisp.)

(Leather scuffed and chipped, corners rubbed, edgewear, spines with creasing and wear at head and tail, some volumes with cracking at joints, vol. 1 with upper board partially detached; all with bookplate on paste-down and previous owner's name, endpapers with light offsetting and staining from binder's glue, pages lightly toned with minor foxing and occasional ink stain or light grime, overall good condition with pages crisp and unmarked.)

(Vellum with discoloration, very light wear to paper; pages toned with scattered foxing concentrated on endpapers and frontispiece, occasional small stain or tear, frontispiece partially detached and with very light damp staining; a good copy with crisp and unmarked pages.)
