Two Turkoman Chuval Faces or Area Rugs

Wool; the first with dark rust red field with large repeating guls in brown, navy blue, and cream, within multiple borders, lower portion with field of flower motifs (3 ft. 4 in. x 5 ft. 4 in.) (A few holes from its former life as a nomadic tent bag, wear to selvages, old repairs, otherwise good estate condition); the second with repeating guls on a muted wine-red field, with stepped motifs in blue and cream, with cream border with star motifs between reciprocal wave minor borders, with braided blue strapping to one side (2 ft. 5 in. x 3 ft. 9 in.) (wear and loss, especially to edges, holes, repairs). This lot accompanied by 2 loose tent bands of woven blue and red wool and horsehair.
