From the Collection of Professor Roberto Severino, Washington, D.C. Thucydides (ca. 460-400 BCE) was an ancient Greek historian best known for writing about the nearly three decades-long Peloponnesian War that took place between Sparta and Athens during his lifetime.
Vellum significantly darkened, with light scratches to boards, lacking ties, wear at front joint with cracking vellum, still extremely sturdy; interior with small area of damp staining at tail of hinge through first quarter of volume with more significant damp staining from front paste-down through first section (p. 34), pages toned and foxed, rear free endpaper with small corner loss; maps about very good with toning and foxing; an overall good copy.
