Albertus Verhoesen was a Dutch painter who specialized in painting landscapes populated by animals of all kinds, especially poultry scenes. He apprenticed to the painter Bruno van Straaten in Utrecht and later studied with Jan van Ravenswaay and Pieter Gerardus van Os. From 1824-1826, Verhoesen was part of the artists' colony in Hilversum. In addition to his own painting, he also was a teacher and an art dealer.

Crack to panel; some minor edge chipping; surface grime and yellowing varnish.
