Per the inscription en verso, this work depicts Virginia Couse-Leavitt's rocker, which sits on the porch of the Historic Eanger Irving Couse (1866-1936) home in Taos, New Mexico. E.I. (Eanger Irving) Couse was one of the founding members of the Taos Art Colony. Virginia was his granddaughter.
