Emanuel van Meteren (1535-1612) was an important Flemish historian who wrote extensively about the history of the Netherlands.

Leather with faint age cracks, boards with light scuffs and edgewear, small stain on upper board, ex-library copy with old library sticker at tail of spine, lacking ties; modern endpapers, title page and one additional leaf with 19th-century manuscript, title page verso with list of plates in manuscript and small stamp, first (3) leaves and several later leaves with institutional blind stamp; pages with light to moderate toning, edges browned, with minimal scattered foxing and light grime, occasional small stain, or small loss at corner or margin; a couple of tiny burn holes, one leaf lightly frayed. A very good and complete copy of this hefty, well-illustrated volume.
