Edy Legrand (France, 1892-1970), born Edward Louis Warschawsky Leon in Bordeaux, lived much of his adult life in Morocco. He worked as an illustrator for numerous publishing houses in both France and New York, and as a well-known painter later in his career.
Macao et Cosmage offered early contributions to the Art Deco style. Jean Saudé (1872-1931), who also contributed to this book, was a French printmaker who excelled at the use of pochoir.
