Second half 19th century, circular back slate top with bas relief Greco-Roman figures and historical scenes with subtitles, set on a mahogany veneered pedestal with scrolled tripod foot base on casters.

From the Collection of a Southern Gentleman, Atlanta, Georgia

Acquired by the consignor from the Mercer House (Savannah, Georgia), which is known for a 1981 murder which was the feature of the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Lacking original hardware to secure the top to the pedestal; two scrolled feet with veneer patches; some small edge chips to the slate top.
