This famous book on wealth by the philosopher and political economist Adam Smith (Scotland, 1723-1790) was first published in 1776.
Overall very good condition; both sturdy volumes with typical age wear to boards, light edgewear, corners heavily rubbed, spine labels chipped, vol. II with one corner bent; interiors with light scattered foxing and grime, otherwise pages extremely clean and crisp; vol. I with upper margin of title page cut and small loss in 2C6, vol. II with small corner loss to rear paste-down and faint large corner and outer margin damp stain throughout.
