Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Attributed to Alamance or Chatham county, early 19th century, yellow pine secondary, one piece form, the tall form featuring an applied stepped cove molded cornice with distinctive applied scalloped motif at frieze, two upper case doors with ten window lights each with molded mullions (mullions align with shelved interior), applied waist molding, rare pull-out drinks board at waist above two lower hinged cabinet doors featuring repeating scalloped motif from cornice, shelved interior, canted corners, base molding is original now with later bracket feet and supporting base.

103.5 in. without base (base adds 4 in.) x 50 x 29 in.

Cupboard has a history in the township of Franklinville, Randolph county; however, there are salient features from the Piggott/Wells school (northern Chatham county) that his cupboard relates to given the distinctive scalloping to the frieze; rare to see this tall elegant federal form with old if not original surface and central drinks board.

Present but currently detached later bracket feet and base; lower doors with burl wood and what appear to be original diagonal sections at lower right corner.
