Watercolor on paper, signed at lower right "F Coleman - Roma", retaining label to verso, presented in a giltwood frame below glass.

Sheet sight 21 1/4 x 14 1/2 in.; Frame dimensions 24 1/2 x 17 1/2 in.

Francesco Coleman was the son of painter Charles Coleman (English, 1808-1874) and brother of Enrico Coleman (Italian, 1846-1911). He was known for painting the people and landscapes of Campagna Romana and the Agro Pontin.

Francesco studied painting in his father's studio, which the three artists shared throughout their lives. He ceased painting in 1911, following the death of his brother.
