The .36 caliber model was a medium-sized revolver that typically featured a steel frame and a brass trigger guard. These revolvers were often compared to Colt's popular Navy model, though the Manhattan versions were generally seen as slightly more affordable alternatives.
Production of the Manhattan revolvers ceased in the late 1850s or early 1860s, as the company faced competition from other manufacturers and the growing dominance of Colt. Despite this, the Manhattan Fire Arms Mfg. Co. left a lasting legacy due to the quality and reliability of its revolvers, many of which remain collectible today.
Overall good estate condition, ferrous metals have oxidation and finish wear, cylinder cap nipples have deformation, barrel wedge is loose, brass has surface scratches and patina, walnut grips have field marks from age and use, bore has oxidation and rifling is present.
