Meiji period (1868-1912), a small travel cabinet with beautiful geometric parquetry work and central doors with embellished lacquered panels featuring images of a crane and pine branches to the right and an image of Mount Fuji to the left, two drawers at top, one below, and six behind the two central doors, the top lifts up by hinges to reveal more lacquered decoration, shaped brass hardware and pulls to surface of cabinet and drawers.

23 x 17 3/4 x 8 3/4 in.

Missing pulls to two of the interior drawers; some slight warping to wood of top drawers; hardware cap and key missing to front lock; wear and loss to lacquer surface mainly on edges, but some scattered to surface on the sides and reverse.
