Private Collection Malik-Verlag, founded by Wieland Herzfelde, was known for publishing controversial titles, many by members of the Berlin Dada movement. Grosz published numerous books with Malik, including
Mit Pinsel und Schere (
With Brush and Scissors). All of the publications were censored, with many leading to trial and inclusion in the Nazi book burning of May 10, 1933 (MoMA, Malik-Verlag, Berlin).
Wraps with toning and soiling, mostly light edge wear with one small corner loss, and small chips and tears at spine with larger end tears; corner fold impacting rear cover and (2) plates; interior with foxing, occasional soiling, light grime, and creasing, and one plate with corner damp stain. A good or better copy.
