A single-shot breech-loading rifle designed by Remington Arms and adopted by Argentina in the late 19th century. Chambered in the .43 Spanish cartridge, it was based on the robust and reliable falling-block action designed by John Rider. The rifle was part of Argentina's efforts to modernize its military, replacing outdated muzzleloaders. Produced in the U.S. and exported to Argentina, it served as a standard-issue weapon for Argentine forces during a period of territorial expansion and internal conflicts. It remained in service until the late 19th century, when it was gradually replaced by repeating rifles.
Overall good estate condition, working action, barrel and receiver have oxidation, surface scratches and finish wear, stock and forend have moderate field marks from age and use with various stamps, bore is overall shiny with strong rifling.
