Renowned for its improved accuracy and reliability compared to earlier smoothbore muskets, the Model 1861 played a pivotal role in shaping Civil War battle tactics.

Overall good estate condition, working action, ferrous metals have oxidation and finish wear, stock has major working repair at wrist, barrel bands are replacements.
