A Pair of Vintage Maritime Paintings of Clipper Ships

Oil on canvas, each signed "H. Wood" at lower right, mid-20th century, presented in matching giltwood frame. The first painting depicts a pair of clipper ships at sea (Stretcher size 21 x 25 3/4 in.; Frame dimensions 29 1/2 x 34 in.) and the second depicts a single clipper ship at sea (Stretcher size 21 x 25 1/8 in.; Frame dimensions 29 5/8 x 33 1/2 in.).

Inherited by the consignor from his grandfather, a captain in the United States Merchant Marine

Painting #1 (pair of ships) - Very good condition.
Painting #2 (single clipper ship) - Good estate condition, minor loss, and pinhole at upper edge, the frame with minor abrasions and retouching.
