Charles S. Manooch, III; Duane Raver, Jr., illus. FISHERMAN'S GUIDE: FISHES OF THE SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES. Raleigh, NC: North Carolina State Museum of Natural History, 1984. First edition. Hardcover. Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on spine, in illustrated jacket. 8vo; 362pp. Signed by the author and illustrator on the title page; with original watercolor by Raver tipped in at the front, titled "SPANISH MACKEREL."

Duane Raver was a successful and sought after southern wildlife artist. Born in Iowa, he earned a bachelor's degree in fishery biology from the University of Iowa. Shortly after graduating, at the urging of a friend, Raver accepted a job with the newly formed NC Wildlife Resources Commission.

Boards with spine ends and corners very lightly bumped; interior with minor staining to endpapers, watercolor marks on half-title, and occasional staining and light grime; jacket with a few scratches, one faint damp stain, and light foxing to interior. A very good plus copy in a very good jacket.
