Boards with mild scuffing, expected age discoloration, edge wear, light bubbling to paper, and occasional small paper losses; joints lightly creased with occasional rubbing and small areas of cracking; spines with light creasing and some with chips or rubbing to ends; sturdy volumes but with cracking at hinges; interiors with light toning, occasional pencil notations, and light foxing, grime, and minor staining (mostly at endpapers), but overall quite clean; some volumes with offsetting from frontispiece and glue remnants or remnants from lost tissue guards, and several with gutter wear; Vol. I with article pasted to free endpaper; an approaching very good set.
