The Afghan 1853 Enfield refers to British Pattern 1853 Enfield rifles used or replicated in Afghanistan during the 19th century. Many of these rifles found their way to Afghanistan through British campaigns or local trade during the Anglo-Afghan Wars. Afghan gunsmiths in areas like the Khyber Pass became adept at producing high-quality copies, often with distinctive local craftsmanship.
Overall fair estate condition, working action, barrel and lock have surface scratches and wear, stock has field marks from age and use with small amounts of missing wood, barrel bands are loose, buttstock has insect damage.
