Sweet Caporal cigarettes were created in 1878 by the Kinney Tobacco Company that later merged with the American Tobacco Company, and they were famously promoted through collectible trading cards. When they entered the Canadian market in the late 19th century, Sweet Caporal cigarettes became incredibly popular there and were sold in Canada through the early 21st century.
