Duke University Collegiate Rocking Chair

Second half 20th century, black painted field, natural finish arms, plank seat, stretcher base on rockers; manufactured by Bent Brothers of Massachusetts with their mark stamped to the underside of the seat. The University's motto "Eruditio et Religio" (Knowledge and Religion) is prominent on the school's seal.
