Stephen White is an acclaimed artist living and practicing in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He is known for his textured paintings with gilt highlights that are inspired by ancient Byzantine techniques and Asian influences. White’s favorite model, a woman named Marian, has been the muse for the stylized female figures often depicted in White’s work throughout his career.

Overall good condition; verso only partially visible; crack at center that appears inherent to wood panel.
