Pair of Louis XVI Carved and Gilt Fauteuil

18th century, well developed carved and gilt mahogany frames with oval panel upholstered back, shaped slip seat, scrolled knuckles with fluted supports, ribbon carved seat rail on tapered spiral fluted legs, the backs finished in varying striped silk and long tassel trim.

Seat frames and rails with Roman numeral hash markings; one seat frame with remnants of a paper label (no visible type); one seat frame with pencil reading "Jotte".

Later upholstery in good condition; crest rails with some tight separation cracks; minor insect damage; later glue blocks to underside of seats.
