Ron Boehmer was born in Baltimore and studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art, receiving his BFA in 1971 and afterward receiving an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania.

After graduation, he lived in rural Pennsylvania where he began his career as a painter, focusing on plein-air painting. He moved to Virginia in 1978 where he has worked as Visual Arts Division Director for the Lynchburg Fine Arts Center and has taught courses in at Central Virginia Community College, Lynchburg College, Hollins University, The Virginia School of the Arts, The Lynchburg Fine Arts Center, the Lynchburg Art Club, and the Beverley Street Studio School.

Boehmer co-founded the Beverley Street Studio School where he teaches regular weekly classes and workshops. His work has been exhibited at the Virginia Historical Society, the Hermitage Foundation Museum in Richmond; and the Lynchburg Court House Museum. He is represented by Nichols Gallery, Barboursville, VA; Main Street Gallery, Annapolis; Carspecken- Scott Gallery, Wilmington, Delaware; and Lin-Dor Gallery, Roanoke, VA.

Scratch at lower left with two associated losses, otherwise good estate condition.
