Late 20th century - early 21st century, fully rigged, the wooden construction throughout is embellished with copper, brass and white metal fittings; realistic distressed copper sheathing covers the hull; the model is mounted within a wooden case having plexiglass sides; a lamp for illumination is fitted to the case top, however it can be easily removed; included in the display is a book, "The Log of the Cutty Sark" by Basil Lubbock, circa 1925, imported by Charles E. Lauriat Company of Boston.

Case 35 x 53 1/2 x 19 3/4 in.; Ship model 31 x 45 x 15-1/2 in.

The Cutty Sark, built in Scotland and launched in 1869, was one of the last of the great clipper ships from "The Age of Sail." As the years passed, the wind-powered Cutty Sark was forced to concede her maritime dominance to the faster steamships that had begun plying the seas.

Appears to be "as made" with no defects apparent. Unknown if custom-made or from a kit.
