Germany, late 19th century-1930, with multi-colored flowers, and scalloped and gilt edges, (72) pieces in pattern
Scattered Flowers, including: (16) flat cups with (11) saucers; (5) demitasse cups; (2) saucers (5 7/8 in.); (11) dinner plates (10 in.); (10) salad plates (8 3/8 in.); (13) bread & butter plates (7 in.); one coffee pot with lid (7 1/2 in.); one mini open sugar bowl; and (2) small bowls. Also included in the lot are (14) pieces in very similar floral patterns: (4) small bowls (4 3/8 in.); (6) bread & butter plates with gilt scrolls at rim (7 3/8 in.); (3) bread & butter plates (7 in.); and one small vegetable dish (6 in.). All with various underglaze crossed sword marks, and most with impressed marks and hand-painted numbers.
Private Collection, Durham, North Carolina Rubbing and flaking to gilt; (4) flat cups with chips to rim, one with chips and losses at rim, and one with tiny chips to rim and spidering cracks with associated chips; one saucer with hairlines to underside and one with a small chip to rim; coffee pot and lid with scattered chips and losses, underside with hairlines (with associated staining) that travel over and around the foot; plates with light cutlery scratches, occasional tiny chips to rim or foot, and several with staining and firing defects; one salad plate with firing crack to underside and one with chip under rim; many dishes with two or four strike-through marks indicating lesser quality.
