Late 18th century, watercolor on ivory, both rendered in a gray ground, the first of a gentleman with hair in queue and smoldering gaze, attired in blush hued overcoat and cravat (1 7/8 in.); the second of young gentleman, blue eyes with brown hair and brown overcoat (2 in.). Both presented behind glass in period gilt bracelet cases, later converted to pendants.
From a Private Collection, Washington, D.C. Some scratches and wear to cases; the larger case with area of loss to the upper pierced mount.
