Last quarter 18th century, watercolor on ivory, both unsigned, the first a portrait of a lady in blue dress, elongated neck with hair worn up, presented behind glass in a period bracelet case, later modified as a pendant (1 1/4 in.); the second of a bewigged gentleman, attired in blue overcoat with tied cravat and frilled chemise, presented in an octagonal gilt pendant (2 in.).
From a Private Collection, Washington, D.C. Some minor wear and light scratches to cases, miniatures appear in good condition.
