Late 19th century, with spurious Meissen mark to interior, hand-painted and gilt, perhaps once a clock base or plinth for larger form, the obverse with relief mascaron and floral garland swag, flanking painted instrument and floral decoration, together with a tin liner.

Some areas of restoration visible under UV light; some surface marks, with rubbing to gilt and painted surfaces; chipping to swag; liner not original to the piece, with staining and verdigris from use.
