A Chinese Red Satin Silk and Metallic Embroidered Wedding Skirt Framed

Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, red satin silk embroidered with silver and gold wrapped metallic thread, phoenix perched amidst large peony blossoms, below is a dragon swimming amongst swirling waves chasing a flaming pearl, the two front sections of the skirt have been cut and framed in an identical manner under glass with embellished fabric mats and gilt wood frames.

Frame dimensions 36 1/2 x 20 1/4 in., Sight size 26 1/4 x 11 1/2 in.
