Evan Wilson is an American realist painter whose classically inspired works blend technical mastery with emotional depth. Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Wilson's early interest in art was nurtured by family friend and University of Alabama art professor Richard Brough. He pursued formal training at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he studied under prominent realist painter Joseph Sheppard. Wilson attended the Schuler School of Fine Arts, and later, received a grant to study painting in Florence, Italy.
Wilson's works are characterized by dramatic lighting effects, which he uses to make ordinary scenes in life elegant. His works are held in esteemed collections, including the Greenville County Museum of Art and the Royal Academy of Music in London. He currently resides in Hoosick, New York, where he continues to create paintings that evoke timeless beauty.
