First quarter 19th century, watercolor on ivory, unsigned, presented behind glass in a later frame and matting, interior retaining a torn ink inscribed paper presumably from the original case reading "....McCulloch / June 18th 1825," the elder blue eyed sitter attired in brown coat, white waistcoat and trousers, the younger holding a flageolet, attired in blue coat white waistcoat with blue cravat, with landscape beyond.
Miniature 4 3/4 x 4 1/4 in.; Frame dimensions 9 1/4 x 8 5/8 x 2 in.
