Limited edition; all but one volume one of 350 copies on laid paper (393 total copies) with copy number varying; vol. 2 with different imprint and limitation. Bound in full blue morocco, with spines gilt-lettered and numbered and with five raised bands, top edge gilt, and with marbled endpapers and colorful ribbon bookmark; with book binder's stamp on first free endpaper verso. With individual title pages and a reproduction of the title page of the original 17th-century edition; most with half-title, and some with a reproduction of the frontispiece of the original edition. Text in French.

A Private North Carolina Collection Boards with toning to edges and spines, occasional general shelf or handling wear, spines with overall light wear, and joints creased with occasional cracking or cracking starting; one volume with upper board slightly loose, two with damp staining to boards, and one with mild bowing to boards; rare hinge cracking; interiors with occasional soiling and light scattered foxing, light toning concentrated at endpapers, offsetting from ribbons, and with previous owner names on free endpaper; second volume with heavier soiling and damp staining; a couple of volumes incorrectly dated on spine. A well-bound and overall sturdy little set; good to very good.
