A GALLERY OF JAPANESE AND CHINESE PAINTINGS. Tokyo: The Kokka Publishing Company, [1908]. Green silk brocade-covered boards, with Japanese writing on the cover, strings on spine, all edges gilt. Folio; with (98) of 100 total color and b&w plates, protected with descriptive tissue guards. Also included are (2) color wood-engravings laid in loose (of the 28 originally included by the publisher, per preface). Text in Japanese and English.

Boards with spotting and edge wear; splitting starting at head and tail of joints, wear to spine and hinges but still an overall sturdy volume; title page extended and with stamp of a previous owner; interior with light toning, scuffing, and grime, expected offsetting, and occasional mild spotting, corner fold, edge wear or mark; one tissue guard with tears, (2) plates removed. A good copy of this beautiful folio.
