19th century, one rosewood caddy in sarcophagus form with waisted sides, vaulted top, decorative brass handle backing, central compartment lined with red velvet (8 1/2 x 14 x 8 in.); the second with mahogany veneers, vaulted top with central panel and barber pole inlay, brass lion mask ring handles, interior with red paper lining, central compartment with later glass mixing bowl flanked by two original lead-lined compartments with hinged lids, comes with working key (8 x 12 x 6 1/2 in.).

The first has crack in wood to underside, wear to velvet, and stains to back, small areas of spotting; the second has surface losses and wear, loss at corner front edges of the interior, cut and patch to escutcheon, tear to red paper lining, warping to inside compartment lids, scattered spotting to inside and cracking to outside.
