Land Grant Signed by NC Governor Richard Dobbs Spaight (1792-1795)

Concerning 605 acres in Moore County sold to one David Allison on March 14, 1795 by assignee John Porterfield. The document is boldly signed by Governor Spaight and James Glasgow, North Carolina Secretary of State. Included is the December 9th, 1794 surveyor's report signed by the surveyor and two chain bearers.

Both the deed and the survey report are on lightly toned stock; the deed with splits along its central fold, the signature of Governor Spaight is clear and bold; a state seal hangs below, however it is encased in a paper holder and is illegible as such.
