James Hamilton & Co., Pennsylvania Stoneware Crock and Canning Jar

Circa 1875, cobalt stenciled stoneware, the first a two gallon crock with semi-rounded rim signed "JAMES HAMILTON & CO. / MANUFACTURERS / GREENSBORO, P.A." over a large "2" capacity mark (10 in.); the second a canning jar, approximately one gallon capacity with tooled neck, signed "JAS. HAMILTON / & CO / GREENSBORO / P.A." (9 3/4 in.).

Both with small firing surface nicks, and chips to interior edges of upper rim; crock with small underglaze nick to exterior upper rim, and scattered areas of discoloration.
