Julius Norton (Bennington, VT), Two Gallon Stoneware Jug

Circa 1841-1844, the upper shoulder stamped with cobalt wash "JULIUS NORTON / BENINGTON VT" over a "2" capacity mark, of cylindrical form with semi-squared spout and grooved handle, cobalt slip trailed decoration at the shoulder depicting of a three flower sprig.
