Buncombe County, early 20th century, turned stoneware with albany slip glaze, stamped "PENLAND'S POTTERY / CANDLER, N.C." near the base, churn/crock form with flared rim, the shoulder with incised "3" capacity mark beneath a fixed lug handle, the other side having one applied loop handle.
