Zeeland, Michigan, early 20th century, model 1087, the arched dial featuring a demilune moonphase aperture with hand-painted nautical scene, above an ornate gilt brass face with silvered chapter ring and Roman numerals, enclosing a subsidiary seconds dial, with "SILENT/ STRIKE" options for either "WESTMINSTER / WITTINGTON" chimes playing on nine tubes, three train movement stamped to verso "MADE IN GERMANY", set within a Gothic revival carved mahogany case, the four finial pediment decorated in quatrefoil and pointed arcade tracery moldings, atop a glass paneled main case with conforming Gothic mullions and two bold fully turned Corinthian columns on spreading octagonal feet, rear case stenciled with model number, and the original printed company label to verso. Includes pendulum, nine tubes, winding key and case key.
