Edward Seago was a British painter celebrated for his landscapes and seascapes. Born in Norwich, England, he suffered from a heart condition that limited his formal education. His artistic talent was largely self-taught, but guided by artists like Alfred Munnings. During World War II, he served in the Royal Engineers, creating camouflage and painting wartime scenes.

In 1956 Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip invited Seago on a world tour aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia. His paintings from that voyage, including scenes from Antarctica, are part of the Royal Collection. Upon his death, Seago requested that a third of his unsold work be destroyed. Along with the works in the Royal Collection, some of his remaining paintings can be found in the Norwich Castle Museum and others.

Very good condition.
