Early 19th century, patinated bronze cupids, unsigned, one depicted picking flowers and the other presenting a basket of fruit, mounted atop a white marble plinth with ormolu figural relief mounts flanking an armorial shield plaque with raised allegorical expression: "IL/ COMMENCE / PAR / CUEILLIR / DES / FLEURS" and "IL / FINIT PAR/ PORTER / DES / FRUITS" ("He begins by picking flowers" and "He ends by bearing fruit"); now mounted as dual socket table lamps with rectangular silk shades.
25 x 12 1/2 x 8 3/4 in. (including shade); sculptures and plinth 13 1/2 x 8 1/4 x 5 3/4 in.
Good estate condition; all fixtures operational at time of evaluation; some areas of rubbing to the patina; fruit bearer with abrasion at right shoulder area; bronze terraces slightly raised in a few corners; minor chipping and marks to marble; light wear to shades.
