Attributed to Virginia, second quarter 19th century, yellow pine secondary, rectangular two board top with shaped corners, skirt with molded bottom edge, single flush drawer, square tapered legs with double side molded edge,
28.5 x 26.75 x 20.75 in.
The legs are joined by two pieces of wood, a walnut and cherry strip; cut nails are used; underside of top exhibits circular saw marks. A good original example outside of the Federal period.
Top with dark staining wear, and tight shrinkage split to left and right side.
