Helena Fox Fine Art, Charleston, South Carolina

West Fraser is an American painter known for his plein air landscapes of the American South, particularly the Lowcountry regions of Georgia and South Carolina. Born in Savannah, Fraser earned his BFA from the University of Florida in 1979 and has since built a career focusing on representational scenes that highlight the architecture, waterways, and light of coastal environments. His work combines careful observation with a loose, painterly style that captures the atmosphere and sense of place.

Fraser has exhibited widely and is a member of the Salmagundi Club and the National Academy of Design. His paintings are held in numerous public and private collections, including the Gibbes Museum of Art and the Telfair Museums. In addition to his studio and exhibition work, he is the author of Charleston in My Time, a collection of paintings and reflections on the city’s changing landscape.
