Jim Harrison was an American artist and author best known for his nostalgic paintings of rural Southern life. Born in Georgia and raised in South Carolina, Harrison began painting Coca-Cola signs as a teenager. He studied art at the University of South Carolina and worked as a coach before becoming a full-time artist in 1970.

Harrison's artwork focuses on the vanishing architecture and culture of the early 20th-century American South, as is depicted in this scene of an iconic barn advertising the town of Rock City, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.

He wrote and illustrated several books and produced Coca-Cola calendars. His contributions earned him South Carolina’s highest civilian honor, the Order of the Palmetto, and an honorary doctorate. His legacy is preserved at the Jim Harrison Gallery in Denmark, South Carolina.

No condition concerns to note.
