Late 19th century, patinated bronze, grid-iron pendulum having a cobalt enameled sphere dial with gilt Roman chapters and hands, 8 day spring driven movement, shell and scroll pediment, and opposing spired sphere counter balance, supported by a patinated bronze contrapposto Cupid signed "Moreau sculpteur", after a model by Auguste Moreau (French, 1834-1917), mounted atop a black marble base.

Dimensions overall 20 1/2 x 7 x 6 1/2 in. Figure 16 1/2 in.;

Auguste Moreau was a French sculptor born in Dijon. The third and youngest son of sculptor and painter Jean-Baptiste Moreau, Auguste began creating sculptural works alongside his older brothers Hippolyte and Mathurin. Auguste made his Salon debut In 1861 where he exhibited regularly until 1913. Like his brothers, he is known today for his dynamic allegorical figures and groupings featuring maidens and cupids.

Some rubbing and wear to the patina; bronze terrace with some mis-shaping; marble base with a few chips.
